Candy Crush

What an amazing feeling to see "Sugar Rush" on your screen, which means that you've completed a level on Candy Crush Saga. This game is extremely addicting and they keep updating the levels, the highest level is 350 and I'm currently stuck on 135. It takes a lot of luck to fly by the levels which my brother seems to have a lot of it (luck that is)... He never really seems to be stuck at one level unlike my dad or me. I was stuck on level 65 for quite some time and when I finally passed, I was jumping up and down and even rolling on the floor because I was so damn happy hahaha.... I cant believe that a game can affect me that much. My friend posted this on her facebook :

8 Life Lessons Taught by Candy Crush :
8. Life is not always fair. Sometimes you get lucky with a good board, sometimes you don't. Deal with it.
7. Persistence is the key to success. If you persist long enough, one of these days you are bound to get it right somehow. Or get lucky. Or both.
6. Ask friends for help when you need it. You'll be surprised at how many are able and willing.
5. Help friends as much as you can. Life is all about give and take after all.
4. There will not always be friends who can help you out. It happens. Suck it up and wait.
3. You won't always understand what's going on. That's fine, you're not expected to.
2. Chocolate is evil. It will mess things up.
1. Life is equal parts fun and frustrating. It is full of challenges every step of the way, yet it can also be sweet and colorful!

Let's hope I can pass level 135 soon

FLOTUS

Michelle Obama is just AH-MA-ZING!!! I am officially a big fan of the FLOTUS. She is the coolest first lady ever. When I first saw her dancing on Ellen, I knew she had some moves but boy oh boy was I surprised to see the History of Mom dance. She is hillarious!!!!! And I love her haircut... I think she visits Ellen show and Jimmy Fallon show the most. She did push ups with Ellen, had fitness competition with Fallon as part of her Let's Move campaign. Have u seen her arms? She is one HOT FLOTUS! She is super smart too, I've watched her speech at the DNC numerous time and just in awe. I know... I sound like I have a crush on her... I actually do... ahhahaha she is super awesome!!!!

Food for my soul

I have been reading the Bible everyday (well... Almost every day) for the past month. It all started because i was under a lot of stress and pressure from work. I was anxious, restless, complete  emotional trainwreck and had no idea how to channel all my frustrations. My parents is my boss, so i cannot really whine to them about work, what i went through is nothing compared what they've been through. My friends are super busy as well and I know they've got enough problems on their plate and I dont want to cloud their minds even more. So that left me with my boyfriend, Adam, poor guy had to listen to my constant whining every day, thank God he's a sweetheart, but I felt a negative aura was surrounding me and I dont like the way I was behaving.

Suddenly, one morning after I took a shower, I felt the urge to look for Bible apps on my phone. I downloaded two apps, one in English and one in Indonesian. Believe it or not, right after I read some verses I can feel I was at ease. So I read the Bible again the next day and the day after and it's in my morning ritual now. Though I still need to go to church regularly on Sunday. I have decided to convert to Catholic and usually their service is quite early in the morning and we have successfully failed to go (need to work on this). Reading the bible everyday is no replacement to going to church on Sunday.

I once read that if you do that one thing for 21 consecutive days, it will become a habit. Here's hoping  I could keep reading the Bible regularly and start going to the church!

Hey there 2013

2013 is a very important year becauseeeee it's the year I'm turning 30!!! It's going to be an amazing year... I can feel it hahaha... I have decided to not stress about it, I'm going to embrace it instead. I've always been a negative person, so one of my new year's resolutions is trying to be more positive, it's no easy task especially if you've been sort of negative for 29 years of your life but if you never try you will never know. Just like that song "fix you" by Coldplay, one of my favorite song ever!!!

My other resolution is GET MOVING, GET GOING. My blood test result is Awesome (say it with a high pitched voice), all that achieved with no exercise and no vitamins hehee... but I get tired so easily. Eventhough I don't really enjoy swimming, I need to do it. No more excuses :P

Which brings me to my ultimate new year's resolution. JUST DO IT. No, it's not stocking up on Nike's  products although it would be nice hoho... I need to stop making excuses, need to stop talking and start doing. Gotta stop the "What If".

Hopefully a year from now, I can be a better person by improving on these resolutions. So bring it on world... I'm ready for you :)

Sleepless in Seattle

It's my second time watching Sleepless in Seattle on cable this Christmas month. I love that movie! Who doesnt hehe... Why I love it :
1. Always nice to see glimpse of Seattle landmarks which makes me miss Seattle even more. Gasworks Park, Alki beach, Space Needle, Pike Place Market, the 9 months of rain hehe
2. Set location was also in NYC and Chicago, my other favorite cities in the States.
3. It introduced me to An Affair To Remember, another classics. Rented it on Netflix, fell in love with the movie then I bought the DVD. Forced Adam to watch it back then in 06, he fell asleep watching it..
4. "It was like Magic..." What happens in the movie may seems unrealistic but I can totally relate to this movie. When Annie was listening to Sam talking on the radio and they both say the same thing at the same time, it happens a lot to me and Adam. Annie and Sam had a connection even before they met in person, happened to me and Adam. How we met, how we reconnect, it was like magic too hehehe... Art imitates life and life imitates art :)

Passion

For the past few years, I have been regularly visiting many sites of fashion bloggers, locally and internationally. Although lately, I just check their instagram pictures. It's amazing that they can turn it into a successful business. Many of them are famous now, even collaborating with fashion designers or create a fashion line themselves. It goes to show that if you have passion in what you do, the money will follow.

As for me, I have always thought that manufacturing is my passion. Ever since I was a little kid, I've always wanted to work in the family business and expand it. But lately, with all the demonstrations going on and the pressure from customers for cost downs and quality up, I feel overwhelmed. It's been a week since I turned 29 and boy I kinda feel depressed after my birthday. All the stress from work, is it really worth it? I know I sound like a whiner and I know there's no easy job and I should be thankful that I have a family business that I can run, but I'm just beginning to question myself, should I keep doing this or perhaps try other venture?

I'm still finding out what my passion truly is... Let's hope I can figure it out soon before I regret it all.

Reduce-Reuse-Recycle

Living in Seattle for 6 years have definitely made me greener. Seattle is one of the greenest cities in the states and I went to UW, which is one of the greenest universities in the states. I feel lucky to have been able to experience all that, including living in an apartment where the manager is kind of a recycling freak. I thought that every single university in the states have a recycling bin located in their buildings, I was surprised to know that there is no recycling bin in their dorm when I visited Indiana University in Bloomington back in 08.

Implementing this so called green life in Jakarta is extremely hard. Luckily my mom has my back, so it's easier for me to start doing it from home. We recycled bottles, newspapers, papers, etc. And now, I want to start this program in my office, ahhaha, it's gonna be super hardddd. But, learning from MJ aka Michael Jackson, if we want to change the world, you gotta start with the man in the mirror. Eventhough the people in my office will probably see me as a freak or a hoarder, I have to do this, and hopefully others will follow. I've told my staff many times before, if we implement this 3R system, it will benefit not only our company but also their household as well. They can teach their own children to live a greener and better lifestyle. Because I believe that children are our future, ehhh jadi lagunya Whitney Houston hahaha...! Anywayyyy, always remember to reduce-reuse-recycle peeps. We gotta save our world.

New Chapter

I was laughing when I read my previous post which dated back in May 2011. Here I am, writing a new post 10 months after I said I need to keep a journal of my life. I have a million reasons of why I haven't been doing that, but I'm not gonna go into that, it will need another post by itself. Anyway, I feel that I have not challenged myself enough. So many plans and ideas but none of them is realized. But hey, you gotta start by dreaming right? hehehe... (another excuse). I'm close to 30 but I haven't even come close to be the person I wanna be, I thought I would have gotten married at 24, have 2 kids by now and be a successful entrepreneur. But I didn't regret about the marriage part, I'm thankful I have waited. I want to experience everything and live a life without regrets. I wanna be able to look back and say, you did good Vero and give myself a pat in the back.

I have a problem with finishing things, so with this new chapter I want to try to change that. I am gonna challenge myself more, probably by start writing more in this blog. Writing is a very difficult thing for me. It's very hard to put into words what I'm actually thinking. Let's hope I can do this.

Hello there

I now realize how important it is to write a blog or a diary of your life. There's so many things going on in our life, how can we possibly remember all of them. Reading my old entries in this blog, brings back so many good memories, of course the memories of life in Seattle. The things that I don't even remember happened... Little things.. but it is the little things that matter. And it's pretty entertaining to read what my younger self write and think about life.

Then I click on my photography blog, read the comments ... Erwin said that I should be his second shooter, don't know if he was just being nice or he was being real!! but I miss photography for sure now. Great, all I need is to buy a new DSLR hauhaua...

The Sweetest Thing

Wow, it's been ages since I updated my blog. I'm watching The Sweetest Thing on trans tv, indonesian tv channel. Then there's this scene that I dont remember watching at all. I watched this movie in the cinema and on tbs multiple times. Well it turns out, they cut this scene on the theatres. It's pretty funny....

I cant believe that they show this scene on indonesian tv channel but cut it out on us cinemas and tv. Wow...

Remember my post about the necklace that Hendy gave me, turns out it is still in the pouch. Doh! I didnt even remember that I have 2 boxes, so I was looking only in 1 box and thought that the necklace was supposed to be in there. I went ballistic when I didnt find it. Found it now :)

Nole

I've been watching a lot of us open games, since I have nothing else better to do. Besides, tennis players are hot!!! Marat Safin, Lleyton Hewitt, Andy Roddick, Roger Federer, anddddd Novak 'Nole' Djokovic. I just saw a match between Novak and Radek Stepanek, it was a great game. Longest game in the history of us open since 1979, it lasted for 4 hours and 44 minutes, 5 sets 6-7 (4), 7-6 (5), 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 (2). Just by looking at the scores, you can tell they played hard. They were entertaining also... so funny! Nole is a funny guy, I went to youtube and typed in his name. He does impressions of other tennis players such as roddick, nadal, and even sharapova, it's hillarious. There are locker rooms videos also which shows that he jokes around all the time. He's not that good looking but his personality makes him so adorable. Sigh...

Ink me

I'm a fan of Miami Ink on TLC and now there's a new series, LA Ink. She used to be in Miami Ink, moved back to LA and opened her own tattoo shop. I shouldnt be watching these shows, they make me want to get a tattoo real bad. You know what, I might get one before leaving Seattle, as a constant reminder of my lovely home here in the rainy city. Might be a cross with angel wings or scorpion, or something that reminds me of seattle (space needle hauuhha maybe not, coffee? rain? ferry boats?) Any suggestions? I think I'm going to get one for real. You guys know how bad I want it. Should I wait till I get married? hauhuahua

How to ...

I don't really like school but I enjoy learning new things. When I first started learning accounting, I was super excited and felt that I could do accounting foreverrrr but after a few months.... I'm sick of it. I get bored easily. I've been watching top chef and yes, I really want to go to culinary school. Got really interested in cooking because of Adam, and got into photography because of him too. Thought of going to culinary school instead of getting my acocunting certificate last year huehe... There are so much stuff that I want to learn!!! Photography, Cooking, Baking, Chinese, Korean, and Investing. This summer, I'm only taking 1 class so I will have time to do some cooking and baking hehe... Jin patisserie in LA is sooooo good and I want to bake cookies and cakes like that (yeah, in my dreams haha).

I have my one last accounting finals tomorrow at 2pm. Havent been studying at all today. I should have studied today and work tomorrow but I'm too lazy to study. I guess I'll just study tomorrow and not work at all. There goes my $32 boo hoo

Creative Japanese

Japanese people are smart and they are really creative too. I've always enjoyed their reality TV show, you know takeshi castle, tv champion, and the eating contest. The first clip that I'm gonna show you is a japanese toilet prank. It's pretty funny, you should watch it till the end because they do different stuff with the toilet, similar but different...

The second video is super duper funny, I laughed until I cried. The students can not laugh while watching the video of a japanese guy speaking english or else they will get spanked!!! This guy Kenzo, got spanked at least 5 times

*updated: I just found a link to the one with a subtitle :
with subtitle

So meannnn but hillariousssss

Spotlights

Seattlelites/Washingtonians have been on the reality TV spotlights lately. Bevin, one of the top 2 girls on The Bachelor is from washington state (seattle maybe?). Apolo Anton Ohno, who is also from Seattle, just won Dancing with the stars!!! I am sooooooo excited for Apolo. Then, Blake Lewis who is from Bothell is the finalist on American Idol. Both finalists, Blake and Jordin auditioned in Seattle. There is always a finale theme song every season and this season, the producer asked the viewers to write that song. And yeap, the songwriter winner is from Seattle. Niceeee....

Blame it on PMS

I have an exam tomorrow and I have not been studying when I'm supposed to. Well, I guess I dont have to study hauhauha... who cares about the grades right? I do actually .... :( I started reading the textbook right after I got back from school but I could hardly stay awake. So I turned on the TV, drank a cup of coffee, and after that, I got a headache!!! I can not concentrate at all now... I just wanna cry huaaaaaa, it's been a while since the last time I cried. And I blame it all on PMS, of course.... I know what I need now, I need to listen to some music and start singing so I can feel better. I wanna go dancing ... and this time I do not want to get wasted again.

Side job: Travel planner

How I hate planning for vacation, especially since I'm going to 3 different islands in hawaii. Which takes me back to 2005 when I planned a vacation trip to chicago, boston, san francisco and las vegas. It's so tiring to find the cheapest hotel with a good location, comparing which site should i buy it from. I know there's kayak.com but still, not all of the hotels are listed there. I still need to schedule the places that we need to visit, rent a car, reserve a trip since some of them are so popular that you need to book them at least a month before. It's easy to book them, the problem is to find the one that provides good economical value hahaha...

Spamalot

Monthy Python's Spamalot is coming to Seattle!!!! I am super excited but the problem is, it starts on October 10. I don't know if I will still be in Seattle at that time. Well, I guess I have to now hahaha... I've been wanting to see this show since it first came out, just like Wicked. Finally I saw Wicked last october and hopefully I will be able to see Spamalot this October hehe... By the way, there's a lot of artists performing this May, joss stone, john legend, my chemical romance, rent, etc...

Today is Thursday and usually it's my beer day hahahahahah.... but I had a slush ice on Ambrosia today. Man, I'm addicted to that, it's so goooodddd... Super fatty though :( Haiyaaa... jessbong introduced me to that slush ice and I'm hooked!!! So beer or no beer today?

Caffeinated

I am not sleepy at all.... I drank tea after dinner. Must not do that again!!! It's past midnight and i want to sleep but my eyes are wideeee open. I had cookies with my tea. It's almond thin and it's so good. I ate 10 of them and just blew up my diet. Im hungry again now hahaa... So bad.

I talked to my mom earlier today. She told me that one of my cousins is pregnant. It's a great news but not really because she has lupus. She had miscarriage a couple of years ago. It's very dangerous for her to be pregnant, it can be deadly. I told my mom that I couldnt believe that they tried that hard to have a baby, knowing that it can be deadly for her and the baby. I mean, she can lose her life. My mom said that her husband really wants to have a baby. Then somehow we went on talking about me and my kidney problem. She told me that it's better for me not to have kids. I told her that I really really want to have kids someday. I know that all of the doctors have told me that it's pretty risky for me to get pregnant but by the time I'm ready, you know, technology will be much advanced. I couldnt understand why my cousin is risking her life to have a baby and there I was, trying to convince my mom that it will be fine for me to have kids. I guess I can somehow understand my cousin's feelings now. I know that you can adopt but it's different. It's still a long way to go for me and I shouldn't be worrying about this but maybe I can do something now that will affect how it is will be in the future, such as living a healthier lifestyle. Urrghhh it's hard, especially the alcohol.... haha... Yes girls, I'm sure you all know, how much I adore those beers and shots hahahaha.... Wow, I didnt plan to blabber all this depressing stuff, must be the caffeine.

Mysterious

I had a dream last night. It was a really short dream but left a lasting impression. It started with me going for a job interview for an IE position. I guess I miss doing IE stuff so I dream about it ehehe. So the interviewer showed me around the factory and introduced me to some of the people there. One of them is him. He was standing on the side, smiling. I'm pretty sure he's an engineer as well, he's indonesian too. We talked (in indonesian) for a bit and I felt this strange feeling. A connection... But then I woke up, I was shocked probably... because he kissed me aahaha... It's weird... well it's a dream. Still though... who could that be. I wonder if I could ever meet him.

Sunday Morning

Sunday morning and the rain is not falling. Lately, the weather is always nice on Sundays, which sucks for me because I have a homework and quiz due at 9pm. I always start doing them after church... yessss call me a slacker! I can't help it haha... I dont like online classes. I always wake up pretty early on Sunday eventhough I slept at 4 am. Well, apparently my apartment walls are pretty thin. I could hear my neighbors talking or maybe it's the TV, I'm not sure. Anyway... I woke up this morning and my feet hurts, it's swollen a bit. Hahhaha which took me back to last night. Citra, hakim, and fani were sitting upstairs, I was at the bar but then Caroline went upstairs, so I followed her. Chit chat for a bit then I went back to the bar quickly because some of our friends are waiting there. Soooo when I was running down the stairs, I missed the last step!!!!! Oh my goshhh.... Luckily I fell on my knee instead on my face!!! When I got up, I saw these faces were looking at me. They're laughing and probably thought I was drunk hahaha... I grab one of their hands and just laughing with them *didnt know how to react exactly*. None of my friends saw this by the way.

Change to another topic. I am determined to lose weight and tone my body. I am going to use this blog as my food diary and hopefully it will help me realizing how much junk I eat. I know I mention this losing weight thing a lot but this time I will make sure that I am going to suffer!!! I have 2 months until my trip to hawaii. I wanna look good :( so friends... help mee yaaa hahaha

Pop Corn

I just gotta post this right away. Ok, I just got done with my exam. I was not concentrated at all!!! My stomach is growling the entire period of the exam. It's like a pop corn machine!!!!! It keeps making sound and won't stop huaaaaaaaaa. I was sooooo embarrassed. I was not hungry, I just ate. I did not know where the air was coming from.... hix... malu abis. You know when you're stomach is growling and then you try to stop it, so you tightened it but then when I do it, I just made it worst. There's this one time when the sound is enormously loud and long!!!!! Oh my gosh... shame shame

Huaaaaaa... I dont know if i misplaced it or what, but it is not in its jewelry bag. I couldnt even remember the last time I wore it. I'm sure I wore it in the club. Oh my my... I am so sad... Hopefully I can find it somewhere... Please please please.

Swirl... Smell... Sip...

I was doing my homework and chatting at the same time. I multitask quite well. In the middle of the conversation with my friend, he said that he wished he could be the indo guy who sips wine. I told him, what are you talking about? He gave me this link to this LA times article.
What a lavish lifestyle... he's only 30 by the way... This is his picture from the front angle. Comments please... I'd like to know what do you guys think. My first thought was this guy must be unique (I was going to use the word weird hehe). Well, I'm going to be LA in 3 weeks, maybe I should try to find him while I'm there. Maybe he'll treat us to some fine wines. How bout it girls? Should we put it in our schedule? HAHAHAHA

So Lame

My friend, Erwin, googled his name just for fun. Then he found this one blog that only has one topic which is about professionalism and that author is commenting on erwin's work relating to his photography business. Let me give you the link to erwin's blog, there's a link to that shitty RIOP blog. Erwin's blog. Read the comments on RIOP blog from Erwin's supporters hehe... I was thinking of ordering some t-shirts that says "TEAM EW" hahaa.... Erwin found out who that guy is, he's indonesian.... of course... that doesnt surprise me for some reason. What can narrow minded indonesians do? They can only bash other people's work to make themselves feel better. That guy used to live in Seattle, he lives in Vancouver now. He's a friend of my friends actually... He has a history of bashing other people's work including my other friend who is the founder of kaskus.com. Geez man, get a life. He even commented that Erwin's pic is not great. Hellooooo.... his pictures are ugly as shit. Damn, he makes me angry.

The Old Thicke

I like Thicke's new physical appearance, he's way sexier now, including his songs but I like his old songs better.
